Queensland's former Chief Magistrate and judge of the District Court, his Honour Judge Rinaudo has retired from the bench today.
Judge Rinaudo was appointed a Queensland Magistrate in 2005 and is noted for his experience and distinguished record of legal and administrative accomplishments in the profession.
His Honour served 14 years with the Magistrates Court and earned appointment as Deputy Chief Magistrate before elevation to Chief Magistrate and Judge of the District Court in 2014.
His Honour completed his term as Chief Magistrate in 2019 and has since served as a District Court Judge.
Before his appointment to the bench, His Honour practised for 24 years as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia, before specialising in dispute resolution and mediation.
During his time in private practice, Judge Rinaudo was Commissioner of both the Legal Aid Commission of Queensland and the Crime and Misconduct Commission, as well as President of the Queensland Law Society, among other appointments.
