A man has been arrested after being caught driving more than 77km/h over the speed limit at Templers, north of Gawler.
State Operations Support Branch police were conducting speed detection duties on Horrocks Highway, Templers, just before 6pm on Monday 24 August when they detected a Mazda 3 hatch travelling at 177km/h in a 100km/h zone, despite the wet conditions.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 22-year-old Kilburn man, was arrested.
He was charged with driving at a dangerous speed and other speed related offences.
The man was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and bailed to appear in the Tanunda Magistrates Court on 20 October.
The Mazda will be impounded by police for 28 days.
