DJ, food vans at Riverfront Meeting Place

The long-awaited Riverfront Meeting Place will be officially open for use over the Labour Day Long Weekend.

"The timing is perfect - there's no better time to celebrate the opening of the fabulous Riverfront Meeting Place then this Saturday," Mayor Robyn Guilline said.

"There will be two mobile food vans operating on site on Saturday plus there will be a DJ - the atmosphere is going to be great.

"We're excited to see how this Riverfront Meeting Place will be used by locals and tourists alike. It's a fresh and exciting addition to our city."

Located where Firebrace Street meets the Wimmera River, the Riverfront Meeting Place was created as a starting point to explore the riverfront and features sheltered seating areas and landscaping and can accommodate up to three mobile food and beverage vans.

The developments are part of the broader City to River Masterplan, made possible through funding from state and federal governments.
