In an aim to reduce Bayside's energy usage during peak periods, network distributor United Energy is paying households for reducing their energy usage behaviours in times of high electricity demand (typically +35 degree days). The program is running now, up until March 31, 2020.
Last year 138 Bayside residents signed up and earned an average of $246 per household over the summer.
