Does your child need kindergarten in 2024?

MPSLogo_News.jpg

Will 2024 be the year your child needs to join kindergarten? Registrations are now open for 2024 kindergarten on the Mornington Peninsula.

We recommend completing your child's registration before 11:59pm Sunday 16 July 2023. Late registrations will be accepted after this date.

We support the delivery of kindergarten services on the Mornington Peninsula by providing community infrastructure and Kindergarten Central Registrations (KCR). This offers a streamlined and transparent application and allocation process, ensuring your family experiences a fair and equitable opportunity.

Why kindergarten?

Early learning, either through a kindergarten or an early childcare centre will set your little ones up for a bright future and offer a gentle, playful beginning to lifelong learning.

Kindergarten improves children's health and wellbeing, helps develop strong social skills and encourages a love of learning.

To be eligible for 2024 kindergarten, your child must turn four by 30 April 2024 (Four-Year-Old Kindergarten) or your child must turn three by 30 April 2024 (Three-Year-Old Kindergarten).

Quotes attributable to Mayor Councillor Steve Holland:

"The Mornington Peninsula Shire's Kindergarten Central Registration program assists families to access quality early childhood education in the two years before school. Registrations for 2024 are now open and we encourage families to register 'on-time' by 16 July 2023."
