The much-loved Dog on the Tucker Box Kiosk and Farm Shop officially reopened after a complete refurbishment, marking a new chapter for one of Australia's iconic stops.

General Manager Nicole Ciaccia said the reopening had already drawn strong support: "We've become a cheerful and popular pit stop for travellers, since we opened at the start of the school holidays: now we are preparing for Christmas."

Ciaccia emphasised the team's commitment to quality and authenticity, "We completely gutted and renovated the existing kiosk — it was opened in 1956 and needed some love. We spent eight weeks completely renovating it to the modern and fresh kiosk and farm shop we have today."

"Our jams are 75% fruit, no nasties. Our ethos is, if Annie Pyers (the original shop owner from 1933) wouldn't have had it in her pantry, then we don't either."

Under the Annie's Pantry label, the kiosk's shelves are stocked with locally made jams, sauces, sweets and spreads, with olive oils and honey — all sourced within 150 kilometres, from the Riverina, Hilltops, Snowy Valleys, and Yass Valley regions. "Our focus is to source regionally, wherever possible, particularly as the Riverina is the food bowl of Australia," Ciaccia added.

The refurbishment also brought a contemporary edge to a national icon.

"We re-branded and commercialised The Dog on the Tucker Box with a new logo — a modern representation of the statue — and we're so proud to be keeping traditions alive while giving visitors a fresh experience."

Dig Up Some Food, Sniff Out a Treat & Get Off the Leash! Visitors can now enjoy fresh sandwiches, artisan pies, sausage rolls, baked treats, and the famous Carnival Gelato - made on-site, paired with Melbourne's celebrated St Ali coffee. The shop also features souvenirs, gifts, Gundagai Gold honey, and Annie Pyers' sweets and spreads, celebrating the best of local produce and craftsmanship.

The Dog on the Tucker Box Kiosk and Farm Shop is open Thursday to Monday, 9 am – 4 pm, at 37 Annie Pyers Drive, Gundagai NSW 2722.
