Today on Monday 19 April, we are conducting an ecological burn at Donald Macdonald Reserve, Beaumaris between 9.45 AM and 10.15 AM (approx.)
Ecological burns are conducted according to strict safety and control procedures and are an important environmental management tool to promote regeneration of Bayside’s indigenous heathlands and encourage bio-diversity.
Residents living around Donald Macdonald Reserve can expect to see smoke visible for many hours throughout the day.
All paths leading to the burn site will be closed and manned by Council/Citywide officers to ensure community safety.
The ecological burn has been approved by the Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board.
