Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a double fatality in Kingston, near Creswick, this afternoon.
Police have been told a truck and car collided at the intersection of Kingston Road and Church Parade about 12.20pm.
Sadly a young child and woman from the car died at the scene.
Another child from the car, believed aged under 10-years-old, has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition; the male driver has been taken by road ambulance to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck was uninjured and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
Traffic in the area will be disrupted for some time while detectives process the scene.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are currently en route to the scene.
