At last night's meeting Campaspe Shire Council endorsed its Draft Council and Wellbeing Plan 2025–2029 and is now inviting community members to provide their feedback on the plan.
This integrated plan sets the strategic direction for the next four years, combining Council's priorities with its commitment to community health and wellbeing. It reflects the voices of the Campaspe community, gathered through an extensive engagement program undertaken by Council.
In February 2025, Council launched a two-part community engagement initiative to shape the plan. The first phase included a broad community survey and targeted discussion groups with young people, First Nations communities, the health and wellbeing sector, and the Diversity and Inclusion Reference Group. The second phase saw the formation of a Citizens' Panel held in March, where 35 residents independently selected to reflect the demographics across Campaspe, worked together to develop the Community Vision and key recommendations for the plan.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell said the plan is a direct result of listening to the community.
"This time we've brought together our Council Plan and our Health and Wellbeing Plan into a single document which reflects our belief that wellbeing should be embedded in everything we do."
The draft plan outlines key priorities including revitalising assets and infrastructure, accelerating economic activity, invigorating public spaces, and enhancing community capacity and wellbeing. The plan outlines the priorities and the strategies and initiatives to achieve to Council Plan over the next four years.
Community members are encouraged to review the draft and share their feedback between 16 July and 22 August 2025 online via Council's website, or in person at any of Council' s Customer Service Centres.
"The Citizens' Panel and broader community input have been instrumental in shaping the priorities for the next four years," Cr Mackrell said.
"We look forward to sharing the draft plan with the community and hearing their feedback," he said.
