Drawing on experience for play space

The City of Logan wants you to be the architect of its newest play space.

Last year's Logan Village Forum identified the Logan Village Green as the perfect place for a playground that will attract families from across Logan.

But Council wants to ensure that it fits the needs of the community and most importantly the children who'll be using it.

That's why Council is holding a 'Design your own Place to Play' event at the Logan Village Green on Sunday, August 4.

Children of all ages and their families are encouraged to come along and show us how you like to play so that we can build a place that gives you the experiences you love.

Participants will be able to play, build, draw and engage freely at the many creative activity spaces.

Council will then use the feedback to design a truly community-owned space for families.

Council's Director of Strategy and Sustainability David Hansen said the Place to Play was identified as a key place-making initiative from last year's Logan Village Forum.

"Council values the perspectives of children in our community," Mr Hansen said.

"The Place to Play on the Logan Village Green is the perfect opportunity to collaborate with them in a unique way and create something really meaningful together."

Council is partnering with the Salvation Army of Logan to deliver this collaboration opportunity.

This Sunday's event is free and runs from 10am to 1pm at Logan Village Green, 11-15 Logan St, Logan Village.

The Federal Government is contributing towards the project through a grant under the Building Better Regions Fund Round 3.
