Drink driver blows 0.234 after crash

A driver has recorded a blood alcohol reading nearly five times the legal limit after a prang at Happy Valley this morning.

Police were called to the two-car rear-ender at the intersection of Panatalinga Road and Kenihans Road, Happy Valley just after 8am on Tuesday 24 January.

There were no injuries in the collision.

The driver of the following car, a 45-year-old Woodcroft woman, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.234.

She was reported for drink driving and fail to maintain a safe distance and will be summonsed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court at a later date.

Her vehicle was impounded for 28 days and she was issued with a 12 month instant loss of licence.
