Drink Driver Caught After Marleston Crash

A high range drink driver was detected after crashing into a Stobie pole at Marleston.

Just after midnight on Friday 4 September, police attended the corner of Marion Road and Galway Avenue, Marleston after witnesses reported a car had driven through a red light and collided with a Stobie pole.

The driver of the black Toyota SUV underwent a breath test and recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.264 - more than five times the legal limit.

The 57-year-old Flinders Park woman was reported for drink driving and aggravated driving without due care and was issued an instant 12-month loss of licence.

She will appear in court at a later date.
