Drink driver nabbed in Croydon

A man's licence has been suspended after he allegedly blew more than six times the legal alcohol limit in Croydon last night.

Officers intercepted his vehicle on the Maroondah Highway about 8pm on Sunday, 14 August.

The 43-year-old driver underwent a preliminary breath test which allegedly indicated alcohol on his breath.

There were two children, aged 6 and 8, in the car at the time.

The driver was subsequently taken to a police station where he underwent a breath test which allegedly returned a breath alcohol reading of .312.

The Croydon man's licence was immediately suspended, and he is expected to be charged with drink driving and reckless driving offences.
