A man has been arrested following an incident that began in Adelaide's eastern suburbs and ended near Wellington East on Friday evening.
Police attempted to stop a Holden Colorado ute on Queens Lane, Glen Osmond, at about 5pm on Friday 25 September after checks indicated the registered owner was disqualified from driving. The driver failed to stop and was last seen on Allawah Avenue.
The vehicle was not pursued, however police maintained observations from a distance as it travelled up the South Eastern Freeway through the Adelaide Hills and towards Murray Bridge.
During the journey, the ute was allegedly driven erratically, changing lanes multiple times and reaching speeds in excess of 150km/h.
At about 6pm, police attempted to stop the vehicle on the Princes Highway near Wellington East. The driver attempted to turn onto a dirt road but missed the turn and came to a stop on the grass verge.
The driver was arrested without incident at the scene.
A 28-year-old North Haven man was charged with driving disqualified, driving at a dangerous speed and failing to stop for police.
He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 18 October.
The ute was impounded for 28 days.
