Driver Charged Over Serious Pedestrian Injury in Green Valley

A woman has been charged after a pedestrian was injured during a crash at a Green Valley shopping centre this week.

About 1.30pm on Tuesday (19 September 2023), emergency services were called to a bus stop at a shopping centre on Wilson Road, Green Valley, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

The 74-year-old woman was waiting at the bus stop when a Toyota Corolla allegedly mounted the kerb and struck her.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the woman for suffering serious leg and facial injuries. She was taken to Liverpool Hospital where she remains after undergoing surgery.

Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Toyota driver, a 75-year-old woman, was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing.

As part of inquiries, the 75-year-old driver attended Liverpool Police Station yesterday (Wednesday 20 September) and spoke with investigators.

She was issued a court attendance notice for negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm) and is due to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Monday 13 November 2023.
