Driving offences in Alice Springs

A 20-year-old man in Alice Springs has had his vehicle seized and been issued with a Notice to Appear before court for hooning offences.

Just after 7:30pm police officers from the Alcohol Policing Unit observed a Holden sedan travelling along Railway Terrace. The vehicle was observed to do a number of burnouts on Railway Tce and Wills Tce before driving off.

At 8:25pm officers from the Drone Unit observed the vehicle exiting a fast-food restaurant on Railway Terrace and members from the Southern Traffic Operations Unit intercepted the vehicle.

"Police have seized a number of vehicles over the past week in Alice Springs for hooning offences, and we will continue to do this every time we observe drivers committing these offences", said Acting Superintendent Brennan.
