Officers from the Townsville Tactical Crime Squad have charged two people with drug and weapon offences following a traffic stop in Rasmussen this morning, June 12.
Around 2:20am, police were conducting proactive patrols when they intercepted a Mazda BT-50 on Gollogly Lane for the purpose of a breath test.
Police detained the occupants of the vehicle for a search, when they allegedly located a quantity of cash, methylamphetamine, MDMA, prescription drugs, knives and drug utensils.
As a result, police then conducted a search warrant at a Kelso address, and allegedly located quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, and ammunition.
A 38-year-old Kelso woman was charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than Schedule 4, and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of crime, possess tainted property, possession of a knife in a public place or school, unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M, authority required to possess explosives, authority required to possess explosives and possess utensils or pipes etc for use.
She is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on June 26.
A 39-year-old Kelso man was charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than Schedule 4, possessing dangerous drugs, offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons, possess tainted property, possessing anything used in the commission of crime, possession of a knife in a public place or a school, and unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today, June 12.
