Drug charges for man caught with cocaine and cannabis - Cabramatta

A man has been charged with drug supply after being stopped for a random drug test in Cabramatta yesterday.

About 1.10pm (Thursday 9 January 2020), officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command stopped a Honda Civic on Gladstone Street.

The driver was subject to a roadside oral fluid test that produced a positive detection for cocaine.

He was arrested, and officers searched his car locating and seizing a backpack allegedly containing a large quantity of cocaine and cannabis.

The suspected cocaine substance, weighing 31.18g has an estimated potential street value of $11,700. The suspected Cannabis substance, weighing 24.13g, has an estimated potential street value of $965.

The 30-year-old driver was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was subject to a secondary test that also allegedly tested positive.

He was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug and supply prohibited drug (greater than indictable quantity less than commercial quantity).

He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Friday 10 January 2020).
