Shortly before 11:00am on Monday 13 May 2019, Police intercepted a Toyota Land Cruiser Utility travelling along the Nutwood Station Road near Minyerri.

The vehicle was subject to a search on the roadside and conveyed to Mataranka Police Station where further searches were conducted.

Narcotic Detection Dog Hugo gave a positive indication on water tank affixed to the tray. Removal and search revealed the tank contained 1362g of cannabis concealed in plastic packaging. Police also located an arm-braced sling shot inside the vehicle.

A 65yo NSW man has been charged with Possession and Supply of a commercial quantity of a Schedule 2 substance and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The man's vehicle has been seized and a request has been made for forfeiture to the crown.

The man has been remanded to appear in Katherine Local Court at a later date.
