Drug driver flips car on Monash

A man has tested positive for drugs after flipping his car on the Monash this morning.

Police have been told the car was travelling at speed, believed to be about 100km/h in a 40km/h work zone, in Tooronga between Toorak and Burke roads when it clipped another car about 3.45am.

The 2012 VW Golf then flipped and skidded on its roof for about 60m before coming to a stop.

The 45-year-old driver was not injured however furnished a positive preliminary oral fluid test for drugs.

A further oral fluid tested indicated the presence of methamphetamine.

The Mulgrave driver, who is currently suspended from driving, is expected to be charged on summons with drug driving and traffic related offences.
