Drug seizure and arrest at Roma, QLD

Roma police and the Roma Major and Organised Crime Squad (Rural) have charged a man after the alleged seizure of a large amount of dangerous drugs at Roma yesterday morning (July 24), Queensland Police say.

At about 9.30am on Gregory Street, police intercepted a vehicle towing a caravan and spoke to the driver in relation to previous fraud related matters.

A search was conducted of the vehicle and the caravan where it is alleged police located a large quantity of prescription tablets and a heat sealed bag containing approximately one kilogram of the drug amphetamine (pictured).

The 46-year-old male driver from Pallara was charged with one count each of possessing a dangerous drug and unlawful possession of a controlled drug along with three counts of fraud.

He is due to appear in the Roma Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are continuing.
