Drugs and weapons seized from Bondi Junction home; man charged, NSW

Strike force detectives have charged a sixth person following an investigation into drug supply within Surry Hills, NSW Police say.

Strike Force Kallaroo was established by officers from Surry Hills Proactive Crime Team in October to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs throughout the Surry Hills Police Area Command.

Five men – two Indonesian Nationals, aged 19 and 22, a 31-year-old Thai National, a 24-year-old French National and a 19-year-old – were charged with drug supply offences and remain before the courts.

Following inquiries, about 9.20am (Wednesday 5 December 2018), police attended a home on Waverley Crescent, Bondi Junction, and arrested a 27-year-old man.

During a search of the unit, officers allegedly located cocaine, cannabis, LSD, Ketamine, MDMA, Diazepam tablets, cash, a baton and a replica pistol.

The items were seized and will undergo forensic examination.

He was taken to Waverley Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug (x4), supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity, deal in property suspected to be proceeds of crime (x2), possess prescribed restricted substance and possess unauthorised firearm.

The Italian National was refused bail to appear at Waverley Local Court today (Thursday 6 December 2018).
