The Wide Bay Tactical Crime Squad has seized $914,000 worth of drugs and charged two people following raids at Toogoom last week.
Investigations led police to execute a search warrant at a property on Wave Court at 11.30am on 4 February.
Officers uncovered a significant quantity of drugs inside the property and inside a vehicle. This includes:
- 1.8 kilograms of methamphetamine, worth an estimated $800,000
- 3.6 kilograms of cannabis, worth an estimated $90,000
- 50 grams of cocaine, worth an estimated $20,000
- 39 MDMA tablets and 9 grams MDMA crystals, worth an estimated $4000
- A quantity of pharmaceutical medicines and steroids
Officers also seized $15,000 in cash, 136 grams of gold worth an estimated $31,000, a shotgun and ammunition, a homemade taser and knuckle dusters.
A 37-year-old Torquay man was charged with 26 offences including 11 counts of buying or possessing S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons, six counts of possessing dangerous drugs, three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, and one count each of possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, possessing relevant substances, possessing utensils, possessing property suspected of having been acquired for committing a drug offence, possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence, and authority required to possess explosives.
He has been remanded in custody and will next face Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on 23 April.
A 25-year-old Toogoom woman was charged with 23 offences including 10 counts of buying or possessing S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons, five counts of possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of unlawful possession of weapon, and one count each of possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, possessing relevant substances, possessing utensils, possessing property suspected of having been acquired for committing a drug offence, possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence, and authority required to possess explosives.
She has been granted bail and is next due to face Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on 26 February.
A 53-year-old Toogoom woman was also issued a warning for possessing dangerous drugs.
