Drugs Seized During Raids Across Adelaide

Five people were arrested yesterday following a lengthy police investigation.

On Monday 22 December, Detectives from the Serious and Organised Crime Branch, supported by STAR Group officers, executed six search warrants across Adelaide.

Police attended and searched premises at Brooklyn Park, Aldgate, Riverlea Park, Oaklands Park, Huntfield Heights and a storage business within the Adelaide Airport precinct. It is alleged they uncovered 11 litres of fantasy, 200 MDMA tablets, 530 grams MDMA, 16 cannabis plants, 1kg of cannabis, 70 grams methamphetamine, $49,665 cash, two expandable batons, two clandestine laboratories with precursor chemicals and prescribed equipment, a pill press, hydroponic equipment and $1,000 in counterfeit bank notes.

Five people were arrested and charged during the operation:

  • 45-year-old man and 32-year-old woman, both from Aldgate, charged with four counts of trafficking a controlled drug, cultivating cannabis and manufacturing a controlled drug. The woman was granted bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 25 February while the man was refused police bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today, Tuesday 23 December (CO2500053160)
  • 41-year-old man from Brooklyn Park charged with ten counts of trafficking a controlled drug, cultivating cannabis, manufacturing a controlled drug and interfering with electricity supply. He was refused police bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today (CO2500053203)
  • 18-year-old man from O'Sullivan Beach charged with six counts of trafficking a controlled drug and trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug. He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 25 February.
  • 17-year-old boy from Huntfield Heights charged with trafficking a controlled drug and bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Youth Court on 29 January.

Detective Superintendent Shane Addison, Officer in Charge, Serious and Organised Crime Branch said, "Clandestine laboratories and the chemical associated with them are a substantial risk to the community. Serious and Organised Crime Branch will be relentless in their investigations to identify and dismantle clandestine laboratories, the pursuit those responsible for them and the distribution of illicit drugs in the community."
