We will host the Universities UK (UUK) Annual Conference 2027, one of the most significant events in the UK higher education calendar.
The two-day conference will bring together university leaders, policymakers and partners to discuss the future of higher education and share best practice.
The conference, which takes place on 8 - 9 September 2027, begins with a dedicated programme for vice-chancellors and principals, providing space for discussion on the most pressing issues facing the sector.
On the second day, leaders from across the sector will join the event for a broader programme of keynote sessions, panel discussions and networking opportunities.
The primary venue for the conference will be our Teaching and Learning Centre, a modern, flexible learning and events hub at the heart of our campus.
The event is expected to create opportunities for engagement with local partners, policymakers, businesses and community organisations, helping to strengthen connections between the University and the wider region.
Planning for the conference will draw on expertise from across the University, creating opportunities for staff and students to contribute to the event and share Durham's distinctive strengths with a national audience.
Universities play a vital role in driving opportunity, research, innovation and growth across the UK. The Universities UK Annual Conference provides a valuable opportunity for leaders from across the sector to exchange ideas and help shape the future of UK higher education. Every year our colleagues from universities across the country gather at our Annual Conference to not only celebrate our achievements but also to consider how we can do more as a sector to meet the changing needs of students, businesses and communities. Durham University is a remarkable institution with a reputation for delivering exceptional higher education and research excellence, and I am delighted it will host our 2027 Annual Conference.
