E-Motorbike Rider Charged in Terrigal Road Rage

An e-motorbike rider has been charged as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged road rage incident on the Central Coast at the weekend.

About 3pm on Sunday 26 April 2026, emergency services were called to the intersection of Brunswick Road and Terrigal Drive, Terrigal, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District attended and were told the two occupants of a vehicle were confronted by a group riding e-bikes in a carpark in Erina.

The pair left the area in their vehicle before one of the riders – a 21-year-old man allegedly riding a Talaria TL2500 e-motorbike – allegedly smashed the back window of the vehicle with a piece of wood, before the vehicle and one of the bikes crashed.

Following inquiries, police established the vehicle had allegedly struck an e-motorbike rider who was stationary at the intersection.

The Crash Investigation Unit established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.

The 21-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.

The 47-year-old male driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged. He remains before the courts.

Following further inquiries, police issued a Court Attendance Notice to the 21-year-old e-motorbike rider.

He was charged with six offences,

  • Destroy or damage property (less than or equal to $6,000)
  • Never licensed person drive vehicle on road - prior offence
  • Use unregistered registrable Class A motor vehicle on road
  • Motor bike rider (alone) not wear/secure fit approved helmet
  • Intentionally throw object at vehicle/vessel risk safety, and
  • Drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous.

He is due to appear before Gosford Local Court on Thursday 18 June 2026.
