The New Town White Eagles - plus a host more - are set to take flight with the completion of the Clare Street Oval change rooms and pavilion.
Hobart Deputy Lord Mayor Helen Burnet said such infrastructure upgrades had a huge benefit on participation and retention of women in sport.
"We know research shows light, bright and clean changing rooms creates a positive environment where young women and girls feel more comfortable and confident, increasing female participation in sport," Cr Burnet said.
Aside from being the home venue of the New Town White Eagles Football Club, the facility will also be used by Football Tasmania, the New Town Cricket Club, the Clarence Cricket Club and the nearby Sacred Heart College.
Healthy Hobart Portfolio Chair Louise Elliot said modern facilities were vital to all participants, no matter the age or skill level.
"Having female friendly facilities encourages collaboration between all levels of sports – from peak sporting bodies and associations to local sports clubs and organisations," Cr Elliot said.
"It is a great way to promote inclusive cultures, policies and initiatives that promote women and girls participation."
Minister for Sport and Recreation, Nic Street welcomed the opening of further grassroots sporting infrastructure.
"Projects like this are a perfect example of the Levelling the Playing Field Program delivering grassroots sporting infrastructure," Minister Street said.
"The Government will continue to proudly invest in sporting infrastructure that provides safe, fair and inclusive opportunities for all Tasmanians."
New Town White Eagles women's captain Ellen Curtis said these facilities would be bonus for the home side and visitors alike.
"These new facilities are a significant asset to the club and benefit a wide range of competitions and teams that play at Clare Street," Ms Curtis said.
"In particular with New Town's own growing women's program they fill an important role for our women and all those that come to play against us.
"By providing a safe, comfortable and clean environment we hope even more women are encouraged to play."
