Easier access to our services for Wodonga residents

Eased border restrictions mean residents living in Wodonga can now access Services Australia services from Albury.

Since last Friday 5 September, residents living within a 50km radius of the NSW border have been able to obtain permits to enter NSW for specific services, giving them easier access to the Albury Service Centre.

Services Australia General Manager Hank Jongen said that while the additional flexibility is positive news for the community, he highlighted people can do most of their business online.

'I'm pleased Wodonga residents can now cross the border to access our face-to-face services,' Mr Jongen said.

'I do want to encourage the community to take a look at our online services, as you can do most of your Centrelink and all of your Medicare business online.

'This includes reporting income, uploading documents, claiming payments, managing appointments, changing your address or bank account details and many other common transactions.

'It's worth checking what you can do online, as it might save you a trip into our office.'

The Agency's Mobile Service Centre will continue offering services in Wodonga through until 4:30pm, Thursday 10 September.

'Our Mobile Service Centre team are glad they were able to travel to Wodonga to offer locals face-to-face services over the past few weeks,' Mr Jongen said.

'Now that locals have more flexibility in being able to cross the border into Albury, our Mobile Service Centre will move on to other areas in need late this week.'

The Albury Service Centre on 430 Wilson St is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
