East Derwent Primary School Upgrade Plan Unveiled

Tasmanian Government

The concept plan for the $12 million redevelopment of East Derwent Primary School has been released for public consultation.

Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said the Tasmanian Government is getting on with the job of delivering new and upgraded education facilities for students and staff across the State.

"These major upgrades are part of our $188 million School Building Blitz, which is delivering significant improvements to 15 schools across the State," Minister Palmer said.

"We know that when we invest in high-quality, well-designed spaces, we are investing directly in our students and staff.

"I encourage everyone to take a look at the plan and have their say, so these facilities meet the needs of our school communities, now and into the future."

Included with the East Derwent Primary School concept plan are artist's impressions developed by project architects, Thomson Rossi, showing how the school might look following the works.

Community consultation on the concept plan is open until 10 July 2026, with construction scheduled to begin in 2027.
