Easter 2026: Closures, Services, Safety Updates

Shellharbour City Council would like to wish our wonderful community a safe and enjoyable Easter long weekend.

Some Council services and facilities will be closed or operating with changed arrangements over the Easter public holiday period from Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April 2026. Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and check Council's website for full details.

Shellharbour beaches will remain open and patrolled during normal public holiday patrol hours throughout the Easter long weekend.

The Beverley Whitfield Ocean Pool and Oak Flats Pool will also be open, while Warilla and Albion Park pools are now closed for the end of the swimming season.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer encouraged residents and visitors to enjoy the Easter break safely.

"If you're visiting our beaches, pools or waterways, please follow safety advice, swim between the flags and be aware of changing conditions," Mayor Homer said.

"We want everyone to enjoy their time safely while looking out for others."

Long weekend regulatory checks and safety

The Easter long weekend will see continued regulatory patrols by Council staff at popular locations across the city.

Residents and visitors are reminded to follow signage, park only in designated areas and take rubbish with them to help protect Shellharbour's natural spaces.

Bass Point Tourist Road has also reopened following the completion of upgrade works, providing safer and more reliable access in time for the Easter and school holiday period.

Access will be managed to protect the reserve, with visitors asked to follow parking controls and signage in place along Bass Point Tourist Road. Off‑road driving and fires remain prohibited in all areas of the reserve.

"I'm urging residents and visitors to follow the rules and respect our shared spaces so everyone can enjoy the long weekend with minimal disruption," Mayor Homer added.
