Eastern Freeway Closure - 27 To 30 March 2026

Manningham Council

As part of North East Link Project (NELP) works, the Eastern Freeway will be closed between Bulleen Road and Doncaster Road from 10:00pm Friday 27 March until 5:00am Monday 30 March.

This closure will enable NELP to complete critical works, including the installation of new flyover lanes that will provide future entry to and exit from the North East Link tunnels.

What's expected

Delays of up to 60 minutes are expected during peak travel times. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and avoid the area where possible.

The closure will also impact the broader road network, with increased traffic expected on Doncaster Road, Tram Road, Manningham Road and Middleborough Road.

Electronic signs and detours will be in place to guide road users throughout the weekend.
