  • The Crisafulli Government's landmark EBA offers to Queensland teacher aides, cleaners, school support staff and other public servants have been overwhelmingly accepted.
  • All three certified agreements received outstanding yes votes in the Department of Education ballots.
  • Wage increases of 8 percent - up to 10.5 percent with a CPI uplift - have been secured and will be back dated.

The Crisafulli Government's landmark EBA offers to Queensland's teacher aides, cleaners and other school support staff have been overwhelmingly accepted by workers, who will now benefit from higher wages, better conditions and more incentives.

An 8 percent wage increase will apply to all workers over the life of the agreement with an additional CPI Adjustment Uplift of up to 10.5 percent inclusive.

In the Department of Education ballots - which ran from Thursday 26 February 2026 to Thursday 12 March 2026 – the following votes were received from those who participated:

  • 91.8% of teacher aides voted to accept the offer.
  • 95.9% of school cleaners voted to accept the offer.
  • 88.4% of public servants including other school support staff voted to accept the offer.

Following certification of the agreements by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, workers will receive back pay of the agreed pay rises.

Queensland has more than 20,000 teacher aides, 7,000 cleaners and 16,500 school-based support staff working across 1,266 state schools and central and regional offices.

Minister for Education John-Paul Langbroek thanked the United Workers Union and the Together Union for their significant efforts in the negotiation process.

"The yes votes in these ballots mean we can provide a pay rise to every teacher aide and non-teaching staff member in the school grounds," Minister Langbroek said.

"These are the people who play such a valuable role in our schools to ensure teachers are supported and students receive a world-class education.

"I'm proud this deal secures higher wages for these workers but also offers the incentives that are important to them.

"There's more time in lieu for staff attending overnight camps, a new allowance that's being trialled for administrating medication, and we're simplifying processes to help part-time staff secure more hours.

"I want to sincerely thank all our school staff for the hard work and dedication they bring to their roles each day."
