Elderly man missing from Lane Cove, police seek help

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly man missing from Sydney's North Shore.

Michael Forster, aged 81, was last seen by staff at a nursing home on Longueville Road, Lane Cove about 3.00pm yesterday (Thursday 20 April 2023).

It is not unusual for Michael to go for a walk to the nearby shops. When he failed to return, staff notified police, who immediately commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold serious concerns for his welfare as he lives with a number of medical conditions including dementia.

Michael is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 178m tall, of thin build, with short grey hair and brown eyes. long black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, jeans, brown shoes.

He uses a walking frame to get around.
