Elderly woman dies in house fire at Coffs Harbour

An elderly woman has died in a house fire north of Coffs Harbour this morning.

About 6.30am (Tuesday 9 August 2022), emergency services were called to a home on Old Coast Road, Korora, following reports of a fire.

Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District, along with Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service, attended a short time later and located the body of an 83-year-old woman inside.

The fire was extinguished, and the cause is not believed to be suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
