Emergency crews responding to fatal house fire at Pooraka, South Australia

A man has died following a house fire at Pooraka early this morning.

Just before 1.30am on Sunday 14 August, police were called to a home on Nalpa Street after a neighbour reported hearing sounds of smashing glass.

When police arrived, they found the home on fire and fully engulfed in flames.

Fire Crews quickly attended and extinguished the blaze.

Sadly, when crews checked the home after the fire, they found the body of an 89-year-old man, believed to be the occupant.

Fire Cause Investigators have attended the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are not believed to be suspicious and police will be preparing a report for the coroner.
