Emergency crews responding to fire at North Adelaide, South Australia

Police are investigating following a fire at a North Adelaide motel this morning.

Just after 6.30pm on Sunday 24 April, police and emergency services responded to a large fire at a motel on Melbourne Street.

The intense fire within the three level complex was quickly brought under control by fire crews.

Fire fighters rescued over 15 people from the motel using ladders and aerial appliances.

Seven people were taken to hospital for treatment.

Melbourne Street is blocked between Mann Road and West Pallant Street while emergency services remain at the scene.

Fire Cause Investigators are currently at the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
