Emergency crews responding to house fire at Christie Downs, South Australia

Police are investigating a grow house fire at Christie Downs last night.

Emergency services were called to the Eugene Crescent property about 7.40pm on Friday 25 June after smoke and flames could be seen coming from the house.

The fire was extinguished by MFS crews. There was no one inside the property during the fire and there are no reported injuries.

An inspection of the property revealed several rooms appear to have been used to hydroponically grow cannabis.

Fire cause investigators attended the scene overnight. The fire is not suspicious but appears to have been caused by an electrical fault - a known risk associated with grow houses.

The hydroponic set up will be dismantled and removed from the house by police today. Investigations are continuing.

Anyone with information about the growing, sale or supply of illicit drugs can report it anonymously to police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
