Emergency crews responding to truck fire at Smithfield, South Australia

Northern District police are investigating the cause of a truck fire at a Smithfield compound overnight.

Just after 3am on Sunday 12 January, police and fire crews were called to a vehicle compound on Palina Road, following reports of a truck on fire.

On arrival, the prime mover was well alight, with the fire spreading to a car parked nearby.

Both the truck and car were extensively damaged in the blaze before the fire was extinguished.

Northern District police are currently treating the incident as suspicious, with crime scene examiners attending this morning.
