Campaspe Shire Council is leading the way in emergency preparedness with the launch of a new Emergency Dashboard. The Emergency Dashboard is a centralised online hub designed to provide real-time, reliable information to residents before, during and after emergency events.
The dashboard brings together critical updates from emergency services, weather warnings, road closures, relief centre locations, and community alerts in one easy-to-navigate platform. It is part of Council's broader commitment to strengthening community resilience and improving access to timely, accurate information during emergencies.
Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell said the dashboard was developed in response to lessons learned from recent flood events and community feedback highlighting the need for a trusted, localised source of emergency information.
"We know that during emergencies, people want clear, consistent and local information. This dashboard ensures our community can access the latest updates from trusted sources, all in one place.
"We're proud to be leading the way in emergency preparedness for our community, as one of the few Victorian local governments to implement this type of tool," Cr Mackrell said.
The dashboard is mobile-friendly and integrates feeds from VicEmergency, the Bureau of Meteorology, VicTraffic, power and water providers and local emergency services. It also includes links to various social media feeds, emergency radio stations, fire danger ratings and preparedness resources such as the First 72 Hours Emergency Plan.
The initiative builds on the work outlined in the Campaspe Municipal Emergency Management Plan 2024-2027 which emphasises the importance of coordinated communication and community readiness. It also supports the goals of the Municipal Recovery Committee, which includes representatives from across the region working together to improve emergency planning and build resilience.
"This is about empowering our community with the tools they need to stay safe and informed. We encourage everyone to bookmark the dashboard and share it with neighbours, friends and family," said the mayor.
The Emergency Dashboard is now live and can be accessed via Council's website at https://emergency.campaspe.vic.gov.au/
