End Israel's Gaza Media Blackout, Protect Journalists

Euro Med Monitor

Geneva – Urgent international efforts are needed to lift the media blackout in the Gaza Strip, protect journalists, enable the immediate entry of independent international media, and ensure access to protective gear and press equipment, as journalists continue to be targeted for over 1,000 days during the ongoing genocide in the enclave.

Palestinian journalists keep working under unprecedented danger, facing threats of killing, injury, and arrest, while lacking essential professional equipment. This breaches the obligations of parties to the conflict to respect and protect civilian journalists and undermines fundamental press freedom and the right to access information.
