Police Seek Information After New Plymouth Robbery

As stated by acting Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Allemann:

Police are making enquiries after a reported robbery at a restaurant in Westown, New Plymouth last night.

Police were called to Tukapa Street at around 6:20pm after a person allegedly entered the restaurant, taking an amount of cash before fleeing the scene in a vehicle with a second person, who did not enter the premises.

Initial area enquiries were made, however the vehicle was not located. Police are continuing work to locate those involved, and the vehicle.

While nobody was injured, this incident was understandably incredibly distressing for those who witnessed it.

We're appealing for sightings of the vehicle involved, which was a late 2000s model black Mazda 3/Axela. The vehicle left along Tukapa Street, headed towards David Street, Westown.
