Entertainment Centre Shines Light On Breast Cancer

A bright pink glow is enveloping the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre throughout October in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

When the sun goes down, LED theatre lights are being used to saturate the light-filled foyer, with a vibrant pink hue bouncing off the white interior walls.

Mayor Patricia White said the switch from white to pink light aimed to help raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer.

"Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in NSW so most of us know someone who has battled the disease or been impacted by it in some way," Cr White said.

"We know that early detection is crucial for improving the chances of survival so if the pink light reminds just one person to book a screening, that would be meaningful," she said.

"I encourage everyone in the community to spread the word and share information about the importance of regular breast screening with friends and family."
