Department of Agriculture and Fisheries EOI open for Ti Tree Research Farm Lease
10 November 2025
The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries is seeking expressions of interest to lease the Ti Tree Research Farm, offering businesses a unique opportunity to expand operations in Central Australia.
Located 14 kilometres south of Ti Tree, the 9.44-hectare farm includes a 76 megalitre groundwater extraction licence and soils suitable for a range of horticultural crops.
The property was originally established in 1988 to support the emerging horticulture industry and has previously hosted research into grapes, asparagus, melons, and mangoes.
The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Deputy CEO Jed Matz said leasing the farm will help activate new investment and stimulate economic activity in the region.
"This is an excellent opportunity for agricultural businesses to bring new life to an established horticultural site in the heart of Central Australia," Mr Matz said.
"The Ti Tree Research Farm has a long history of supporting horticulture research, and we're now looking for proposals from industry to reinvigorate this facility for the benefit of the region and the Territory."
The lease will initially be offered for a period of 10 years, with the potential for longer terms considered.
Expressions of Interest are open now and close Friday, 19 December 2025.
