EOIs now open for Comic Gong 2024 stallholders

Calling all artists, writers, comic book sellers, and cosplay or pop-culture stallholders! Expressions of Interest to be a stallholder at Comic Gong 2024 is now open.

The date has been set for Saturday 11 May 2024, and Wollongong City Libraries is calling for stallholders to submit an EOI to set up a stall at the free, comic and pop culture festival.

In 2024 Comic Gong is returning to the format that people know and love – a free, one-day extravaganza held in the heart of the Wollongong CBD. With thousands of people expected to attend the one-day festival, it's a fantastic opportunity for local artists, creatives and small businesses to showcase their work.

Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM encouraged local stallholders and artists to submit an expression of interest.

"The exhibitor and artist stalls are very popular at Comic Gong. There's always an incredible selection of artworks, books, comic books, games, clothing, accessories, toys and more on sale," Cr Bradbery said.

"One thing that's always set us apart from other commercialised comic cons, is that we don't push artists and creatives into a hard-to-find artist corner. Instead, we give artists the same opportunity to display their work as any stallholder.

"We're especially encouraging local artists and businesses to apply to hold a stall at Comic Gong. Where we can, our priority is to support local community and businesses. While space is limited, we're keen to hear from loads of businesses and artists so that we can organise the best event possible."
