EPA Victoria CEO Lee Miezis Takes Up New Role

EPA Victoria congratulates out-going CEO Lee Miezis on his appointment as Parks Victoria CEO.

Mr Miezis started as CEO in May 2021 after serving three months as the interim CEO after impressing the EPA Governing Board with his vision for the Victoria's environment regulator.

During his time in charge, Mr Miezis oversaw the introduction of a new legislative framework for EPA that allowed the organisation to focus on preventing harm to the community and the environment.

The EPA Chair, Professor Kate Auty, praised Mr Miezis' leadership and skill over a period of growth for the Authority.

"We deeply appreciate his clear leadership and significant skill.

"Lee's time at EPA has been remarkable. His commitment to our people and his capacity for understanding the needs of the community and environment are unparalleled.

Professor Auty also announced Joss Crawford, current Executive Director for Operations, will stand in as acting CEO for the organisation during the search for a replacement, which will commence immediately.

Ms Crawford has deep regulatory experience across multiple industries both abroad and in Victoria, over the past 25 years.

"The great work of EPA can continue under the interim leadership of Joss. We are grateful as an organisation we have such great people to step into the role.''
