Epworth HealthCare worker wears PPE for ultramarathon

Epworth HealthCare nurse, Erica Riley, is one of thousands of Epworth employees and doctors who worked during the marathon that is COVID-19 pandemic.

The Emergency Department nurse at Epworth Richmond treated a number of COVID-19 patients throughout the pandemic.

Away from work, Erica qualified to compete in this weekend's three-day Ultraman event in Queensland. A race that includes a 10-kilometre swim, 421 kilometres on the bike, and an 84.3-kilometre run.

In recognition of the efforts of all healthcare workers, Erica plans to run the last five kilometres of the double-marathon in personal protective equipment (PPE).
