On 26 September 2025, in Berlin, the Board of the European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC), approved its Strategic Plan for 2026-30 and took note of the work and achievements of the past year.
Representing the Council of Europe at the meeting, Deputy Secretary General Bjørn Berge commended ERIAC for stepping up initiatives to enhance Roma history and language education and for strengthening ethnic pride and sense of belonging among the Roma.
"By strong partnerships with prestigious art institutions and festivals, ERIAC has enhanced its visibility and credibility, which has led to a membership growth. This shows that ERIAC´s work is valued by artists, researchers, historians, civil society organisations," Deputy Secretary General Berge said.
The Deputy Secretary General underlined Council of Europe´s strong ongoing support and important partnership with ERIAC.
The Board held the meeting with its new Chair, Mensur Haliti. Members include Council of Europe Deputy Secretary General Bjørn Berge, Ismael Cortés-Gómez, Ioanida Costache and Deputy Chair of the Board, Dijana Pavlović.
