Northern Territory Police are searching for a 24-year-old man who escaped from the Low Risk Cottages at the Alice Springs Correctional Facility overnight.
Mr Austin Matthew and another prisoner, were in correctional custody when they escaped sometime during the early hours of this morning.
A 32-year-old male prisoner was arrested this afternoon and police continue to search for Mr Matthew.
The man is not considered a risk to public safety however, police ask if anyone sees him not to approach him but instead contact police.
Police are conducting several lines of inquiry into Mr Matthew's whereabouts.
