With the aim of adopting proactive, data-driven labour policies, ESCWA provided support to Qatar's Ministry of Labour in developing an advanced Labour Market Information System (LMIS). The initial version of the system was launched last year, while the current phase introduces specialized artificial intelligence (AI) modules and predictive analytics, enabling proactive labour market analysis and evidence-based policymaking.
The upgraded system combines labour market data with a central AI agent capable of analysing labour policies and generating dynamic forecasts of job demand. It also includes advanced reporting tools that help the Ministry plan for future workforce needs and make informed decisions.
The system marks a major milestone in the Ministry's digital transformation journey, enhancing its ability to respond rapidly to local and global changes, and laying the foundation for long-term strategic labour planning.
