Esperance ram raid arrests

Esperance Volume Crime Team officers have charged three people as a result of their investigation into a series of ram raids that occurred during the evening of 25 to 26 January 2021. The ram raids caused extensive damage to the buildings and most of businesses were unable to trade on Australia Day.

It is alleged the offenders stole a Holden Commodore sedan and a Mitsubishi Triton utility from homes in Nulsen and West Beach which they used in the series of ram raids on a number of businesses and a sporting club across Esperance suburbs.

The premises targeted included a service station and a lunch bar located on Norseman Road, a service station on Goldfields Road and a cricket club in Bandy Creek. It is alleged during the burglaries the offenders stole alcohol, ice creams, confectionary items and soft drinks.

A 19-year-old man from Chadwick is due to appear before the Esperance Magistrates Court today, 29 January 2021, charged with:-

• 2 x Steal Motor Vehicle;

• 5 x Aggravated Burglary;

• 5 x Stealing; and

• 1 x Attempt Aggravated Burglary.

A 19-year-old man also from Chadwick is next due to appear before the Esperance Magistrates Court on 23 February 2021, charged with:-

• 1 x Steal Motor Vehicle;

• 4 x Aggravated Burglary;

• 4 x Stealing;

• 1 x Attempt Aggravated Burglary;

• 2 x Breach VRO; and

• 2 x Breach Protective Bail.

An 18-year-old man from Nulsen is next due to appear before the Geraldton Magistrates Court on 18 February 2021, charged with:-

• 2 x Steal Motor Vehicle;

• 5 x Aggravated Burglary ;

• 5 x Stealing; and

• 1 x Attempt Aggravated Burglary.
